Cisco Unity Express License install, activate and transfer

Here is everything you need to know about Cisco Unity Express license activate, install and transfer. It shouldn’t be that hard or difficult, but if you are not dealing with this stuff in everyday, it get confuse you easily.

2. Product Authorization Key(PAK) and registeration

– You will receive a paper with "Product Authorization Key(PAK)"

– Go to www.cisco.com/go/license and login with your CCO account
– And click "Continue Product License Registration"

 

 

 

– Put the PAK or Token ID and click "Fulfill " Buttom (See below picture)

 

 

– Check box for terms & condition and review your owner’s info.

– Put a Unique Device Identifier(UDI) for CUE module(in this case ISM-SRE-K9-300)

* Do not put router’s UDI#

– To find UDI of SRE module where is CUE installed, you must login SRE module

– Generate a license file, *.llc (download or email to you)

– Downlaod and put it on FTP server (in this case, using Filezilla Server edition)

5. Q & A

5-1. Can I transfer CUE license from old router to new?

Answer> Per Cisco, if router chassis type is different, you need to open a RMA ticket. If not, easy to transfer your CUE license from one to another.

 

5-2. How long does it take time to transfer?

Answer> It depends on information provide from customer

 

5-3. What should I do, if I massed up with router UDI?

Answer> Open a TAC ticket, Cisco support team will correct it.

 

6.  Troubleshooting

 

Cisco-CUE# show license status application

"voicemail disabled, ivr session quantity (X) is equal to or exceeds available ports (Y)
ivr enabled: 10 sessions"

It means that X number is greater or equal to the number of port (Y)
 

Solution>

 -CUE# license activate ivr sessions 8 (should be multiple of 2)

Cisco-CUE# license activate ivr sessions 8
Current license already active, count saved for use at next reload
 

Cisco-CUE# reload
Reloading the system will terminate all end user sessions.

Doing a reload will cause any unsaved configuration data to be lost.
