How to factory reset Cisco CP-7945G IP phone

In some circumstance, you have to try factory reset on Cisco 7900 series phone.

There are two types of factory resets : Software / Hardware wise.

 

Software factory reset : Delete all files, but not default firmware and configuration

Hardware factorry reset : Format flash on the phone.

 

How to factory reset Cisco CP-7945G or CP-7965G IP phone

 

A. Factory reset(software)

1. Power off

2. Hold " # " button + power on.

3. Blinking RED on handset

4. Release " # " button

5. Enter  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 * 0 #

 

* Above procesure can be used when you upgrade or downgrade F/W.

 

B. Factory reset(Hardware)

1. Power off and unplug Ethernet cable from the network.

2. Hold " # " button + power on.

3. Blinking RED on handset

4. Release " # " button

5. Enter  3 4 9 1 6 7 2 8 5 0 * #

 

* If nothing comes up after software factory reset.

 

C. To enter edit mode : Enter *  * # on edit item.

 

* For the CP-7961, Blinking Amber on dial buttons.
