Cisco CUCME GUI configuration tips and troubleshooting

 

Here is simple steps to setup CUCME (CME) GUI

Notes;

Router : Cisco 2921 ISR2
IOS : 15.3(2).T4 / c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.152-3.T4
CME : 9.5
TFTP Server : 10.10.10.1

 

1. If you don’t see GUI install on the router, you need to downlaod GUI from Cisco website.

ex) cme-153-2Tv1.rar  <– CUCME GUI 9.5

 

2. Unzip and extract all the files for CUCME GUI(ver. 9.5)

3. Copy to the router, flash drive.

4. Enable CME GUI

Cisco_CME# conf t
Cisco_CME(config)# ip http server
Cisco_CME(config)# ip http authentication local
Cisco_CME(config)# file privilege 0

 

5. Configure CME system admin and customer admin

Cisco_CME# conf t
Cisco_CME(config)# telephony-Service
Cisco_CME(config-telephony)# auto-reg-ephone (by default)
Cisco_CME(config-telephony)# web admin system name cmeadmin secret 0 CiscoCisco
Cisco_CME(config-telephony)# web admin customer name cme secret 0 CiscoMgr

 

6. Tips

– Some browser might be trouble – Try IE
– "no ip http server" and "ip http server"
– If authentication is passed, but no reloading page, then make sure file privilege is correct.
