FortiGate – VPN issue

FortiGate VPN issue occurred today during business hours. We have been using FortiGate’s VPN solution for a year. It was very easy to set up and maintaining device. Seems like all other function of the firewall were working just fine, but impacting VPN connection. Firewall Model : FirtiGate 500D with firmware version v6.0.4 build0231(GA) – realized we are using a few version behind.

Here is what I saw “sslvpnd” processor stuck at the moment with the below command

Troubleshooting

• To see evidence of the VPN processor stuck – # Get System Performance Top (ctl + X to end)
• Command to reset a VPN processor – #fnsysctl killall sslvpnd
